Switalski Engineering Inc. was founded in 2004 for the purpose of consulting with Defense, Plaintiff, and Workers Compensation law firms in addition to Claims Investigators, Risk Management personnel, in matters involving issues in the Mechanical Engineering field.
Throughout his 40-plus year consulting career, Mr. Switalski has represented product manufacturers in numerous industries including:
- agricultural machinery
- construction machinery
- manufacturing machinery
- bowling products and machinery
- power and hand tools
- exercise equipment
- lifting and hoisting equipment
- packaging machinery
- fastening systems
He has also addressed safety concerns related to:

Mastering Commercial Mechanical Maintenance
With over 35 years experience in the commercial mechanical maintenance field, including machine repair and servicing, plumbing, electrical and HVAC, Mr. Switalski has unique expert qualifications to address issues involving industrial maintenence practices, machine repair techniques, use of hand and power tools, and reliance upon safety devices.
Member Of
Mr. Switalski has been involved with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A14 committee on ladder safety since 1995. He is the current Chairman of the Sub-committee for Mobile Ladder Stands and Mobile Ladder Stand Platforms. As a member of the A14 Executive Committee, Mr. Switalski is a voting member for all 9 A14 ladder safety standards. He also serves on the Sub-committee for Ladder Accessories and is a member of the Ladder Labeling Task Force.
The Journey of Mr. Switalski
Mr. Switalski earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1980 and 1989, respectively. In conjunction with his undergraduate studies, Mr. Switalski worked as a maintenance mechanic at a large Chicago bowling center as well as at the on-campus bowling center to pay for his schooling. This paved the way for an internship with the Brunswick Corp’s. automatic pinsetter engineering facility in Muskegon, Michigan. Mr. Switalski held the position of Manufacturing Engineer and assistant to the chief automatic pinsetter designer prior to completing his Bachelor’s degree. After joining a consulting firm in 1980 specializing in the safety of mechanical devices and systems, Mr. Switalski retained the Brunswick Corp’s bowling division as a client. Mr. Switalski later became a co-proprietor in two Chicagoland bowling centers which makes him uniquely qualified to consult in bowling center incident cases involving customers, employees and pinsetter maintenance personnel.
